Regulatory Public Notices

As used by the Corps, the term "public notice" is an official, required government announcement of a proposed agency action, decision made or under consideration, public hearing or other activity.  Please download the attachment(s) associated with notice for the complete, formatted, public notice with tables, illustrations, maps and plans.

    Expiration date: 10/17/2024

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application on August 28, 2024 from the Town of Sunset Beach seeking Department of the Army authorization to discharge fill into 1.16 acres of wetlands, associated with the construction of a facility to accommodate a public works office, storage, meeting, fire training space needs, and Emergency Operations Center in the Town of Sunset Beach, Brunswick County, North Carolina.

    Expiration date: 10/7/2024

    The DISTRICT ENGINEER, WILMINGTON DISTRICT, 69 Darlington Avenue, Wilmington North Carolina 28403, hereby proposes to renew, with modifications, Regional General Permit SAW-2019-02350 (RGP 50) pursuant to Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899 (33 U.S.C 403) and Section 404 of the Clean Water Act (33 U.S.C 1344). This general permit (RGP 50) authorizes the discharge of dredged or fill material in waters of the United States associated with certain maintenance, repair, and construction projects conducted by the various divisions of the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT), including the NCDOT Division of Highways, Rail, Bicycle/Pedestrian, etc.

  • SAW-198200031 Regional General Permit 31

    The DISTRICT ENGINEER, WILMINGTON DISTRICT, 69 Darlington Avenue, Wilmington North Carolina 28403, hereby proposes to renew, with modifications, Regional General Permit SAW-198200031 (RGP 31) pursuant to Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899 (33 U.S.C 403) and Section 404 of the Clean Water Act (33 U.S.C 1344). This general permit (RGP 31) authorizes the discharge of dredged or fill material in waters of the United States associated with best-fit widening projects, or phases of “phased” best-fit widening projects, that (1) have undergone interagency review and completed the interagency Merger Process, and (2) would cause only minimal individual and cumulative adverse environmental effects. These projects are conducted by the various divisions of the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT), including the NCDOT Division of Highways, Rail, Bicycle/Pedestrian, etc.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application on July 26, 2024 from 35 North Land Holding, LLC seeking Department of the Army authorization to permanently impact 0.767 acres of acres of wetlands, 6.04 acres of jurisdictional ditches, and 2.86 acres of an open water pond. This work is to facilitate the completion of the Timber Farms Residential Subdivision located in the northwest corner of Highway 17 and Longwood Road in Ash, NC. Plans include lot fill for residential homes, construction residential streets and utilities for 1,700 single-family lots, 500 multi-family units, 300 townhomes, and an approximately 6.7-acre amenity area, associated with Timber Farms subdivision in Brunswick County, North Carolina.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application on August 14, 2024 from Sibelco North America, Inc. (Sibelco) seeking Department of the Army authorization to discharge fill material into 0.116-acre of wetlands and 2,113 linear feet (LF) of stream associated with the northward expansion of the Hawkins Mine disposal area in Spruce Pine, Mitchell County, North Carolina.
