B. Everett Jordan Dam and Lake is located in Chatham, Wake, Durham, and Orange Counties in North Carolina. Operated through a partnership between the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the State of North Carolina, Jordan Lake conserves 46,768 acres in the midst of the expanding triangle area! The purposes of B. Everett Jordan Dam and Lake are to provide flood damage reduction, water supply, water quality control, fish and wildlife conservation and outdoor recreation. Recreationally, the lake provides an abundance of opportunities to relax among the undeveloped lakeshore and beautiful pine and hardwood forests. You may choose to paddle on the calm water, picnic by the lake, bird-watch for bald eagles, go fishing from your bass boat, bring the tent or RV out for camping, or just take a dip at a swim beach. While you're in the area, don't forget about the many hiking trails that can be found around the lake!
