As used by the Corps, the term "public notice" is an official, required government announcement of a proposed agency action, decision made or under consideration, public hearing or other activity.  Please download the attachment(s) associated with notice for the complete, formatted, public notice with tables, illustrations, maps and plans.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application on October 8, 2024, from Hendrick Automotive Group, LLC, seeking Department of the Army authorization to permanently discharge fill into 0.56 acre of wetland and 455 linear feet (0.066-acre) of stream channel, associated with the expansion and operation of the existing Toyota of Concord and Honda of Concord automobile dealership facilities (Project) in Concord, Cabarrus County, North Carolina.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application on October 2, 2024, from Greenway Waste Solutions at North Meck, LLC, seeking Department of the Army authorization to permanently discharge fill into 1.5 acres of wetlands and 2,667 linear feet (0.305-acre) of stream channel, associated with the expansion and operation of the existing North Meck Construction and Demolition Landfill in Huntersville, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina.

    Due to technical issues with our website, the PN comment period for SAW-1995-02242 NCDOT R-2576 is being extended until 21 DEC 2024 (30 days) to allow for interested parties to provide comments on the project. The Wilmington District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) has received an application for a Department of the Army permit pursuant to Section 404 of the Clean Water Act (33 U.S.C. §1344) and/or Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899 (33 U.S.C. §403). The project would affect waters of the United States associated with the Currituck Sound. The project/review area is located on an alignment extending seven miles from US 158 near Coinjock/Aydlett to NC 12 near Corolla in the Barco and Corolla Township; at Latitude 36.369840 and Longitude -75.957770; in Barco, Currituck County, North Carolina. This project proposes to construct a controlled-access two-lane toll road on new location that extends from US 158 near Coinjock/Aydlett to NC 12 near Corolla, North Carolina. The total length of the project is approximately 7.0 miles and includes a shorter bridge over Maple Swamp on the Currituck County mainland and the longer, main bridge over Currituck Sound. In addition, the project includes improvements to US 158 and NC 12.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application on October 7, 2024 from North Carolina Department of Transportation seeking Department of the Army authorization to impact 0.53 acres of wetlands and 1,570 linear feet of tributaries, associated with the construction of the 0.7 mile long, Baltimore Road Extension from the intersection of Baltimore Road (SR 1630) and US 158 to a proposed interchange on Interstate 40 (I-40) across Smith Creek in Davie County, North Carolina (STIP U-6187).

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application on September 27, 2024 from the North Carolina Department of Transportation, Division 12 (NCDOT), seeking Department of the Army authorization to impact 0.03 acre of wetlands and 2,354 linear feet of tributaries, associated with upgrading the US 74 at SR1168 (N. Academy St/Lattimore Rd) Intersection to an interchange and replacing Bridge Nos. 220048 and 220049 on US 74 over Sandy Run Creek, in Mooresboro, Cleveland County, North Carolina (STIPs R-4045 and BR-0012).
