As used by the Corps, the term "public notice" is an official, required government announcement of a proposed agency action, decision made or under consideration, public hearing or other activity.  Please download the attachment(s) associated with notice for the complete, formatted, public notice with tables, illustrations, maps and plans.

  • SAW-2020-00395

    Expiration date: 6/1/2021

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application on April 16, 2021, from Creech, LLC (Applicant) seeking Department of the Army (DA) authorization for the construction of final phases of Highgate Subdivision (Highgate). The Applicant requests DA authorization to impact 0.416 acre (ac) of Waters of the United States (WotUS), comprising 0.414 ac of wetlands and 110 linear feet (lf) (0.002 ac) of stream channel for the construction of road and utility crossings. The road crossings are required to provide interconnectivity within the existing subdivision and surrounding secondary roads. Connections to existing Shotwell and Covered Bridge roads are not permittable by transportation standards due to traffic constraints near their intersection.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application from the City of High Point seeking Department of the Army authorization to discharge fill material into 82 linear feet (0.006 acre) of stream channel and 0.01 acre of wetlands, associated with relocating Kersey Valley Road (SR 1154) to allow for the expansion of the Kersey Valley Landfill in High Point, in Guilford County, North Carolina.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application from USMC-Camp Lejeune seeking Department of the Army authorization to discharge fill into wetlands and streams, associated with a modification request at the MARSOC facility in Onslow County, North Carolina.

    Expiration date: 5/3/2021

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application from the Town of Kitty Hawk seeking Department of the Army authorization to dredge 2.282 million cubic yards of beach quality sediments from an offshore borrow source, and deposit the material along approximately 3.77-mile section of oceanfront shoreline, in the Town of Kitty Hawk, Dare County, North Carolina. The Bureau of Ocean and Energy Management (BOEM) and the Corps will be cooperating agencies during the environmental review of this project as the offshore sand resources are located on the Outer Continental Shelf and fall within BOEM’s jurisdiction. BOEM and the Corps will be joint lead agencies for National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) purposes, and would prepare, in coordination with the applicant/agent, joint NEPA documents.

The Bureau of Ocean and Energy Management (BOEM) and the Corps will be cooperating agencies during the environmental review of this project as the offshore sand resources are located on the Outer Continental Shelf and fall within BOEM’s jurisdiction.
