As used by the Corps, the term "public notice" is an official, required government announcement of a proposed agency action, decision made or under consideration, public hearing or other activity.  Please download the attachment(s) associated with notice for the complete, formatted, public notice with tables, illustrations, maps and plans.

Mitigation Public Notices

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application from the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) seeking Department of the Army authorization to discharge dredged or fill material into waters and wetlands in Hydrologic Unit Code (HUC) 03040101 (Yadkin/Pee Dee River Basin) and 03010103 (Roanoke River basin), associated with the construction of I-74/Winston Salem Northern Beltway. This application includes the following sections of this proposal: (1) Transportation Improvement Project (TIP) No. R-2247 phase 2, CA, CB, CD, D, EA, EB, and EC (I-74/Winston Salem Northern Beltway from I-40 to US 52); (2) TIP No. U-2579C phase 2, D, E, and F (I-74/Winston Salem Northern Beltway from US 52 to US 311); and (3) TIP No. U-2579AA, and AB (I-74/Winston Salem Northern Beltway from I-40 Business to US 311 South) in Forsyth County, North Carolina.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received information from the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) regarding a potential future requirement for Department of the Army authorization to discharge dredged or fill material into waters of the United States, associated with the replacement of Bridge No. 360 on US 29 and improvements to the existing interchange at SR 4771 (Reedy Fork Parkway) (STIP Project Number R-4707) in Guilford County, North Carolina.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application from the United States Marine Corps Base-Camp Lejeune seeking Department of the Army authorization to discharge fill and associated wetland forest conversion, for the development of Battle Site Zero (BZO) range adjacent to Tank Range SR-10 in Onslow County, North Carolina.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) has received an application from AFTEW Properties, LLC, seeking Department of the Army authorization to discharge fill material within waters of the U.S. for the purpose of constructing a residential development near the City of Wilmington, New Hanover County, North Carolina. The currently proposed project would require the modification of an existing Department of the Army authorization which was issued in 2013.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) National Centers for Coastal Ocean Science (NCCOS), Beaufort Lab seeking Department of the Army authorization to discharge 750 cubic yards of fill material into two small open water areas within the marsh complex totaling 0.17 acre combined, associated with a research project testing the effectiveness of applying dredged material to marsh ponds for marsh enhancement in Onslow County, North Carolina.
