Regulatory Public Notices

As used by the Corps, the term "public notice" is an official, required government announcement of a proposed agency action, decision made or under consideration, public hearing or other activity.  Please download the attachment(s) associated with notice for the complete, formatted, public notice with tables, illustrations, maps and plans.

Mitigation Public Notices

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps or COE) received an application from Duke Energy seeking Department of the Army authorization to discharge dredged or fill material into waters and wetlands in Hydrologic Unit Code (HUC) 03010103 (Roanoke River Basin), associated with activities related to the excavation and disposal of coal combustion residual (CCR) materials from areas of coal ash fill at the Duke Energy Dan River Steam Station, in Rockingham County, North Carolina.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) has received an application from the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) regarding a potential future requirement for Department of the Army (DA) authorization to discharge dredged or fill material into waters of the United States associated with the proposed conversion of the Liberty Road (SR 1228) overpass to an interchange with I-40 in Buncombe County, North Carolina [State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) Number I-4759]. This project would also involve the realignment (part of the road on new location) and improvement of Liberty Road between US 19/23/NC 151 and Monte Vista Road (SR 1224).
