Regulatory Public Notices

As used by the Corps, the term "public notice" is an official, required government announcement of a proposed agency action, decision made or under consideration, public hearing or other activity.  Please download the attachment(s) associated with notice for the complete, formatted, public notice with tables, illustrations, maps and plans.

Mitigation Public Notices

  • 2017 Nationwide Permits Re-authorization

    Expiration date: 8/1/2016

    On June 1, 2016, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers published in the Federal Register its proposal to reissue the 50 existing nationwide permits (NWPs) and issue two new NWPs. On June 7, 2016, the Wilmington District proposed renewal of and revision to the regional general conditions added to the Nationwide Permits, for work in federal waters in NC, to ensure that no more than minimal impacts occur to the aquatic environment, as intended by this program. The District set up a web page to track the re-authorization process.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) has received an application from the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) regarding a potential future requirement for Department of the Army (DA) authorization to discharge dredged or fill material into waters of the United States associated with the proposed widening of US 701 Bypass in Whiteville, Columbus County, North Carolina, TIP No. R-5020.

    Expiration date: 6/30/2016

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application for a modification to an existing Department of Army (DA) permit from the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) seeking Department of the Army authorization to permanently discharge fill material into 5,566 linear feet of jurisdictional stream channel and 0.80 acres of adjacent wetlands, and temporarily discharge fill material into 279 linear feet of jurisdictional stream channel. This permit modification is associated with section D of Transportation Improvement Project (TIP) U-2524, the construction of an approximately 1.75 mile section of the Greensboro Western Loop from east of Battleground Avenue (US 220) to SR 2303 (Lawndale Drive) in Greensboro, in Guilford County, North Carolina.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application from Piedmont Natural Gas seeking Department of the Army authorization to open-cut trench a 0.96-mile section of natural gas pipeline through 1.93-acres of forested, non-tidal wetlands, associated with the construction of an approximately 4.7-mile natural gas distribution pipeline, in St. Pauls, Robeson County, North Carolina.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application from WI High Point Landfill, LLC seeking Department of the Army authorization to discharge fill material into waters of the United States, associated with expanding the existing Waste Industries (WI) High Point Construction and Debris (C&D) Landfill in Guilford County, North Carolina.
