As used by the Corps, the term "public notice" is an official, required government announcement of a proposed agency action, decision made or under consideration, public hearing or other activity.  Please download the attachment(s) associated with notice for the complete, formatted, public notice with tables, illustrations, maps and plans.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application from the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) seeking Department of the Army authorization to discharge dredged or fill material into waters of the United States, associated with the proposed extension of Airport Boulevard (SR 3126) on new location between Garden Square Lane and Chapel Hill Road (NC 54) to include an approximate 0.4 section of existing Airport Boulevard located northeast of Chapel Hill Road, in Wake County, North Carolina. The project is proposed in 2 phases. Phase I is located between Garden Square Lane and SR 1637 (Church Street) and Phase II is located between SR 1637 (Church Street) and northeast of Chapel Hill Road (NC 54). Phase I of the project is fully funded for planning, environmental studies and construction and Phase II is unfunded for right of way acquisition and construction. The NC Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO) 2050 Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) identifies Phase I as a 2030 Horizon Year project, identifying the future facility as a minor thoroughfare. Phase I is included in the NCDOT 2020-2029 State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) as HL-0033. Phase II is identified by CAMPO in their Comprehensive Transportation Plan (CTP). Projects identified in the CTP are unfunded portion of the 2050 Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP). Implementation of Phase II is not anticipated until after 2050.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps or USACE) received an application from Martin Marietta Materials, Inc. (MMM or Martin Marietta), seeking Department of the Army authorization for 430 linear feet [lf, (0.039 acres)] of permanent stream impacts (clearing and grading) and 0.25 acres (ac) of permanent wetland impacts (clearing and grading), associated with the expansion of the overburden storage area at the existing Martin Marietta quarry in Hickory, Catawba County, North Carolina.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application from NorthPoint Development, LLC seeking Department of the Army authorization to impact, 1,610 linear feet (lf) of jurisdictional streams, 0.19-acre of a jurisdictional wetland, and 1.58 acre of a jurisdictional pond which contribute hydrology to Fourth Creek associated with the construction of five distribution warehouse facilities near the intersection of I-77 and I-40, near Statesville, Iredell County, North Carolina.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application from The Chemours Company, c/o Sebastian Bahr, seeking to modify the October 2, 2020 Department of the Army authorization, associated with remediation of perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoralkyl substances (PFAS) at the existing Chemours Plant located at the Cumberland and Bladen County line, south of Fayetteville, North Carolina. The modification request includes the construction of a barrier wall within jurisdictional Waters of the U.S., the extraction of groundwater, and the installation of a treatment system.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application from North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) seeking Department of the Army authorization to construct a living shoreline project, associated with stabilization of NC-24 between Cape Carteret, Carteret County and the Town of Swansboro, in Onslow County, North Carolina.
