As used by the Corps, the term "public notice" is an official, required government announcement of a proposed agency action, decision made or under consideration, public hearing or other activity.  Please download the attachment(s) associated with notice for the complete, formatted, public notice with tables, illustrations, maps and plans.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application from the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NC DOT) seeking Department of the Army authorization to discharge dredged or fill material into waters of the United States, associated with the proposed conversion of the intersection of US 74/76 and Old Lake Road (SR 1740) to a grade separation, the intersection of US 74/76 and Chauncey Town Road (SR 1735) to an interchange, construct a roundabout at the intersection of Sam Potts Highway (NC 214)/ Chauncey Town Road, and construct a service road from Chauncey Town Road to Old Lake Road north of US 74/76 in Columbus County, North Carolina. The project is 2.201 miles in length.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application from the North Carolina Department of Transportation, Division 12, (NCDOT) seeking Department of the Army authorization to construct the proposed replacement of Bridge No. 25 over Buffalo Creek, TIP B-5845, impacting 874 linear feet of tributaries, and less than 0.03 acre of wetlands, on SR 2033, Oak Grove Road, west of Kings Mountain, in Cleveland County, North Carolina.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application from Yancey County seeking Department of the Army authorization for 165 linear feet (lf) [(0.019 acres)] of temporary stream impacts (utility crossings); 0.004 acres (ac) of temporary wetland impacts (utility crossings); 4,151 lf (0.445 ac) of permanent stream impacts (site clearing and grading); and 2.464 ac of permanent wetland impacts (site clearing and grading), associated with the Little Leaf Farms project in Micaville, Yancey County, North Carolina.

    The DISTRICT ENGINEER, WILMINGTON DISTRICT, 69 Darlington Avenue, Wilmington North Carolina 28403, hereby announces the renewal/modification of twelve regional general permits (RGPs) pursuant to Section 10 of the River and Harbor Act of 1899 (33 U.S.C. 403) and Section 404 of the Clean Water Act (33 U.S.C. 1344). Title 33, Code of the Federal Regulations (CFR), Paragraph 325, authorizes issuances of RGPs for activities which are substantially similar in nature and cause only minimal individual and cumulative environmental impacts.
