Regulatory Public Notices

As used by the Corps, the term "public notice" is an official, required government announcement of a proposed agency action, decision made or under consideration, public hearing or other activity.  Please download the attachment(s) associated with notice for the complete, formatted, public notice with tables, illustrations, maps and plans.

  • SAW-2011-00181

    Expiration date: 9/9/2018

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application on July 31, 2018, from Duke Energy (Applicant) seeking to modify the existing Department of the Army (DA) authorization for the Mayo Coal Combustion Product (CCP) Monofill Site – Phase 1. The existing permit authorized permanent impacts to 2,074 linear feet (lf) of stream channel for the construction of a synthetically-lined industrial landfill (Coal Combustion Product Monofill) and associated infrastructure at the Mayo Plant in Person County, North Carolina. This authorization was issued on August 22, 2012, and will expire on December 31, 2030. The Applicant requests to modify the existing DA authorization to permanently impact an additional 1.15 acres of wetlands and 227 lf of stream channel for the construction of a Lined Retention Basin (LRB) and for the Ash Basin Closure project at the Mayo Plant. Note that impacts associated with the LRB have already occurred and that the Applicant is requesting an after-the-fact permit modification for the impacts associated with the construction of the LRB.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application from Duke Energy seeking Department of the Army authorization to impact approximately 0.55 acre of wetland and 979 linear feet of stream channel of the jurisdictional waters associated with the redirection of stormwater around an ash basin on Marshall Steam Station (Marshall) in Catawba County, North Carolina.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application from Lake View Park Commission seeking Department of the Army authorization to dredge/excavate sediment from Beaver Lake, in Asheville, Buncombe County, North Carolina.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps or USACE) received an application from Mr. Scott Wearren of High Hampton Resort, LLC / High Hampton Land, LLC, (High Hampton LLCs) seeking Department of the Army authorization for 200 linear feet (lf) of temporary stream impacts (utility crossings); 3,293 lf of permanent stream impacts (golf course redesign, stream crossings for roads, stream bank stabilization); 0.76 acres (ac) of permanent wetland impacts (golf course redesign, crossings for roads, and laundry/maintenance facility); and 0.159 ac permanent open water impacts (golf course redesign and beach relocation/construction), associated with the High Hampton Redevelopment Project in Cashiers, Jackson County, North Carolina.

    The Wilmington District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) has received an application from Mr. Ken Merner of Boyd Homes seeking department of the Army (DA) authorization to impact 28.9 acres of wetlands and 4,562 linear feet of waters of the United States to construct Camden Plantation, a 598 acre mixed-use residential and commercial development with recreational amenities located off the east side of US Highway 17, north of South Mills, in Camden County, North Carolina.
