Regulatory Public Notices

As used by the Corps, the term "public notice" is an official, required government announcement of a proposed agency action, decision made or under consideration, public hearing or other activity.  Please download the attachment(s) associated with notice for the complete, formatted, public notice with tables, illustrations, maps and plans.

Mitigation Public Notices

  • Workload Management Public Notice

    Expiration date: 12/27/2018

    Due to a demanding and very large daily workload, Regulatory Field Staff may be unable to schedule field visits in less than 30-90 days for the purpose of determining the presence of waters and wetlands subject to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers regulatory jurisdiction pursuant to Section 404 of the Clean Water Act.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) has received an application from Dream Catcher Hotels/Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort, on behalf of the Tribal Casino Gaming Enterprise, seeking Department of the Army authorization to permanently impact 0.022 acre of wetland and temporarily impact 45 linear feet of stream in order to expand Harrah’s Casino Resort on Qualla Boundary, Jackson County, North Carolina. The applicant also seeks after-the-fact authorization for impacts to 0.961 acre of on-site wetlands.

    The DISTRICT ENGINEER, WILMINGTON DISTRICT, hereby proposes to authorize Regional General Permit 201801536 pursuant to Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899 (33 U.S.C 403) and Section 404 of the Clean Water Act (33 U.S.C 1344). The general permit authorizes the construction, maintenance and repair of marsh sills for shoreline stabilization along eroding shorelines within waters located within the 20 coastal counties of North Carolina and subject to regulatory jurisdiction of the Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers. Title 33, Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Paragraph 325, authorizes issuance of general (regional) permits for activities, which are substantially similar in nature and cause minimal individual and cumulative environmental impacts.
