Regulatory Public Notices

As used by the Corps, the term "public notice" is an official, required government announcement of a proposed agency action, decision made or under consideration, public hearing or other activity.  Please download the attachment(s) associated with notice for the complete, formatted, public notice with tables, illustrations, maps and plans.

Mitigation Public Notices

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application from North Carolina Department of Transportation, Mr. Richard W. Hancock, P.E., Manager, Project Development and Environmental Analysis Branch, 1548 Mail Service Center, Raleigh, North Carolina 27699-1548 seeking Department of the Army authorization for the permanent impact to 4,162 linear feet of stream channel (of which 225 linear feet is bank stabilization), temporary impact to 309 linear feet of stream channel and the temporary impact to 0.1 acres of wetland. The proposed impacts are associated with the I-77 High Occupancy Toll (HOT) lanes project (TIP #s I5405, I4750AA and I3311C) located along approximately 26 miles of I-77 starting north of NC 150 in Iredell County and continuing south along I-77, deviating from I77 at the I-277 interchange and following I-277 approximately 1.2 miles to terminate at North Brevard Street in Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) has received an application from Dare County seeking Department of the Army authorization to dredge 2.6 million cubic yards of beach-quality sediments from an offshore borrow source located 1.7 miles east of Cape Hatteras, and deposit the material along approximately 2.9 miles of oceanfront shoreline at the Cape Hatteras National Seashore and the Village of Buxton, in Dare County, North Carolina.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application from North Carolina Department of Transportation, Ferry Division seeking Department of the Army authorization to excavate a 3,350 foot long by 150 foot wide channel to a depth of -12' generating 88,132 cubic yards of spoil material that will be disposed of via side cast dredge, associated with opening a safe navigable channel on the south side of Hatteras Inlet between the north end of Ocracoke Island and the Gorge in Hatteras Inlet in Dare County, North Carolina.
