As used by the Corps, the term "public notice" is an official, required government announcement of a proposed agency action, decision made or under consideration, public hearing or other activity.  Please download the attachment(s) associated with notice for the complete, formatted, public notice with tables, illustrations, maps and plans.

  • SAW-2011-01930

    Expiration date: 2/18/2014

    AFFP, LLC notified the Corps of their intentions to modify the previously approved Mitigation Banking Instrument (MBI) for the Anderson Farm Stream Mitigation Bank (Bank). This mitigation bank site is located in Buncombe County, North Carolina with the Upper French Broad (HUC 06010105) as its geographic service area.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received a request from the Town of North Topsail Beach seeking a permit modification to their current Department of the Army (DA) authorization issued on May 27, 2011 to relocate the New River Inlet ebb tide channel and to conduct beach nourishment along 11.1 miles of North Topsail Beach oceanfront shoreline in Onslow County, North Carolina. The modification request consists of combining Phase 3 to the DA permit modification issued on September 26, 2013, which rescheduled the construction timeframe and implementation of Phase 5. The proposal is to construct Phase 3 and Phase 5 during a single event.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application from Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services seeking Department of the Army authorization to place fill in 448 linear feet of stream channel and 0.24 acre of wetlands, associated with the construction of the Prosperity Ridge Road connector in Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina.

    The Army Corps of Engineers Wilmington District announces a Notice of Availability (NOA) for the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) and Public Hearing for the Village of Bald Head Island Shoreline Protection Project on Bald Head Island, Brunswick County, North Carolina. We also received a permit application from the Village of Bald Head, North Carolina for this project. This public notice is for compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act. The main purpose of the proposed project is to address erosion at the western end of South Beach and to thereby protect public infrastructure, roads, homes, beaches, dunes and wildlife habitat. The applicant’s proposed action includes the construction of a 1,900-ft terminal groin as well as creation and maintenance of an updrift sand fillet on the western end of South Beach.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application from Cumberland County seeking Department of the Army authorization for permanent impact to 1.91 acres of Section 404 jurisdictional Waters of the United States, specifically wetlands adjacent to the Cape Fear River. Of the 1.91 acres of wetland impact, 1.65 acres has already occurred, and for these impacts Cumberland County is seeking after-the-fact authorization. The proposed impacts are associated with the Cumberland County Ann Street Landfill Borrow Area Expansion project located at 690 Ann Street, approximately 0.5 mile northeast of the intersection of Ann Street and Grove Street in Fayetteville, Cumberland County, North Carolina (PIN# 0447-09-9244).
