As used by the Corps, the term "public notice" is an official, required government announcement of a proposed agency action, decision made or under consideration, public hearing or other activity.  Please download the attachment(s) associated with notice for the complete, formatted, public notice with tables, illustrations, maps and plans.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application from the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT), in consultation with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), seeking Department of the Army (DA) individual permit authorization to impact approximately 4.17 acres of DA jurisdictional wetlands and 108 linear feet of surface waters associated with the replacement of Bridge Nos. 85, 141, 151 and Culvert C70 on US 301 over Swift Creek and Culvert C161 on US 301 over Lane Swamp in Nash County, North Carolina. (NCDOT TIP B-5124; Federal Aid Project- BRSTP-0301(25), WBS 42270.1.1.)

Hancock, P.E., Manager, Project Development and Environmental Analysis Branch, 1548 Mail Service Center, Raleigh, North Carolina 27699-1548 seeking Department of the Army authorization to discharge dredge or fill material into waters of the US associated with the construction of the US-74 Monroe Connector/Bypass project (STIP R-3329 and STIP R-2559 Division 10).

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application from the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) regarding a potential future requirement for Department of the Army (DA) authorization to discharge dredged or fill material into waters of the United States associated with proposed improvements to existing NC 11, SR 1212 (Shortcut Road) and portions of existing US 13 from just south of the NC 11 intersection with NC 561 to the US 13 interchange with US 158 and NC 45, a distance of approximately 7.8 miles between Ahoskie and Winton in Hertford County, North Carolina.

    All interested parties are hereby advised that the Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) has published a Notice of Availability (NOA) in the Federal Register announcing the release of a Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) for the North Carolina Department of Transportation project U-4751 and R-3300 which begins at Military Cutoff Road in Wilmington and extends around Hampstead and ties back into Highway 17 below the Holly Shelter Game lands in New Hanover and Pender Counties. The main purpose of the proposed project is to improve the traffic carrying capacity and safety of the US 17 and Market Street corridor in the study area. The FEIS addresses comments raised from the release of the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) and the Supplement DEIS.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application from The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT), seeking Department of the Army authorization to impact waters of the United States, associated with the proposed widening of US 221 to a four-lane, median-divided facility from US 421 in the Deep Gap Community of Watauga County, North Carolina to the US 221 Business/NC 88 intersection in the town of Jefferson in Ashe County. North Carolina. The project is approximately 16.1 miles in length.
