As used by the Corps, the term "public notice" is an official, required government announcement of a proposed agency action, decision made or under consideration, public hearing or other activity.  Please download the attachment(s) associated with notice for the complete, formatted, public notice with tables, illustrations, maps and plans.

  • SAW-2020-00414 Lake Junaluska Dredge Material Disposal

    Expiration date: 4/24/2025

    The project would affect waters of the United States associated with unnamed tributaries to Richland Creek. The project/review area is located to the west of Sleepy Hollow Drive; at Latitude 35.521040 and Longitude -82.977430; in Lake Junaluska, Haywood County, North Carolina. The project purpose, as provided by the Applicant is: “The purpose of this project is to expand Lake Junaluska Assembly’s existing long-term dredge material disposal area on Sleepy Hollow Road. This will accommodate new dredge material from Lake Junaluska that will be removed each year from approximately February to April for the lifespan of the disposal area. The need for this project is due to excess sediment continuing to accumulate in the reservoir from upstream sources and the lack of other potential disposal areas in the area. The authorization would be to construct an earthen dam to create a new holding cell downstream of the existing holding cells.

  • SAW-2024-01049 Multifamily Development

    Expiration date: 4/18/2025

    The Wilmington District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) has received an application for a Department of the Army permit pursuant to Section 404 of the Clean Water Act (33 U.S.C. §1344). The purpose of this public notice is to solicit comments from the public regarding the work described below: The applicant requests authorization to permanently fill 0.408 acre of wetlands to facilitate the development of a multifamily development and associated infrastructure. The general footprint of the development is approximately 21.3 acres, and includes three (3) multi-family residential buildings with underground parking, additional parking lots, amenity spaces, six additional detached buildings, and associated infrastructure including ingress/egress.

  • Emergency Permit Application Processing Procedures for Hurricane Helene-Extension

    The purpose of this notice is to advise the public that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Wilmington District is extending alternative permitting procedures in response to conditions resulting from possible erosion, and storm damage associated with recent passing of Hurricane Helene. These alternate procedures will be utilized until September 13, 2025.

  • West Indian Manatee Standard Operating Procedures for Endangered Species (SLOPES)

    The purpose of this public notice is to announce that the Wilmington District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), and the United States Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) have developed a SLOPES agreement concerning potential effects to the federally threatened West Indian Manatee (Trichechus manatus).
