As used by the Corps, the term "public notice" is an official, required government announcement of a proposed agency action, decision made or under consideration, public hearing or other activity.  Please download the attachment(s) associated with notice for the complete, formatted, public notice with tables, illustrations, maps and plans.

    Expiration date: 2/24/2019

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps or USACE) received an application from Dr. Theodore Morris of Promenade on the Lake LLC (Applicant) seeking Department of the Army (DA) authorization to carry out bank stabilization, create a beach recreation area, dredge open water, and install pilings for expansion of an existing marina located on Lake Norman at 144 Big Dukes Lane Mooresville, NC 28117 in Iredell County. There are no streams or wetlands located on the subject property. There is 0.114 acre of open water (small cove open to Lake Norman) located on the subject property. The “full pond” elevation of Lake Norman as determined by Duke Energy is at an elevation of 760 feet. When Lake Norman is at the full pond elevation the parcel has approximately 2960 linear feet of shoreline along Lake Norman. Duke Energy’s seasonal target elevation ranges from 755 to 758 feet to provide additional and emergency storage during periods of high rainfall.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application from Person County seeking Department of the Army authorization to discharge dredged or fill material into waters of the United States, associated with the construction of a semiconductor chip manufacturing plant on a 318 acre parcel of land that is situated within a larger tract of land (approximately 1,456 acres) designated by Person County as the Person County Mega Park. The proposed project includes off-site transportation and utility improvements. The proposed project site is located south of Edwin Robertson Road, on both sides of Country Club Road, north of the City of Roxboro, Person County, North Carolina.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application from The Oleander Company seeking Department of the Army authorization to discharge fill material into 1.57 acres of wetlands, to facilitate the development of Live Oak Bank Campus. This includes the construction of office buildings, parking decks and associated infrastructure; such as; roads and stormwater facilities.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application from Piedmont Lithium, Inc. seeking Department of the Army authorization to impact 5,810.5 linear feet of jurisdictional stream channel, 0.14 acre of jurisdictional wetlands, and 0.16 acre of jurisdictional ponds/impoundments, associated with a lithium mine in Gaston County, North Carolina.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received information from the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) regarding a potential future requirement for Department of the Army authorization to discharge dredged or fill material into waters of the United States, associated with improving US 158 (Shortcut Road) from East of NC 34 (Shawboro Road) at Belcross to NC 168 (Caratoke Highway) in Camden and Currituck Counties, North Carolina. The project is identified in NCDOT’s 2018-2027 State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) as Project Number R-2574. Right of way acquisition and construction are unfunded and programmed for future years behind the STIP horizon.
