Regulatory Public Notices

As used by the Corps, the term "public notice" is an official, required government announcement of a proposed agency action, decision made or under consideration, public hearing or other activity.  Please download the attachment(s) associated with notice for the complete, formatted, public notice with tables, illustrations, maps and plans.

  • SAW-2005-21386

    Expiration date: 1/6/2014

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application from The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT), seeking Department of the Army authorization to impact waters of the United States, associated with the proposed construction of a section of the Greensboro Eastern Loop from US 70 Relocation to SR 2303 (Lawndale Drive) in Greensboro, Guilford County, North Carolina. The project is proposed to be a four lane freeway from US 70 Relocation to US 29 and a six-lane freeway from US 29 to Lawndale Drive. It is on new location and totals 9.7 miles in length. This project is referred to as Transportation Improvement Project (TIP) U-2525 BC. Section B begins at US 70 Relocation and terminates at US 29 and Section C begins at US 29 and ends at SR 2303 (Lawndale Drive). Permit drawings of the proposed project have been prepared based on final design for U-2525B and functional design for U-2525C.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application from Mr. Randy Jameson, of Ingles Markets, Incorporated seeking Department of the Army authorization to impact 300 linear feet of stream , associated with the re-development of the existing Ingles store #77 on Spartanburg Highway in Henderson County, North Carolina.

    All interested parties are hereby advised that the Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) has published a Notice of Availability (NOA) in the Federal Register announcing the release of a Supplement Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for the North Carolina Department of Transportation project U-4751 and R-3300 which begins at Military Cutoff Road in Wilmington and extends around Hampstead and ties back into Highway 17 below the Holly Shelter Game lands in New Hanover and Pender Counties. The main purpose of the proposed project is to improve the traffic carrying capacity and safety of the US 17 and Market Street corridor in the study area. The Draft supplement addresses changes in the project resulting from community input and necessary design changes to create a functional project. These changes include new lanes and an interchange between Topsail High School and the terminus of the project near Holly Shelter Game lands. These changes were not discussed or conceptualized in the release of the DEIS and thus it is necessary to produce this Supplement of the DEIS to solicit public input before the Final Environmental Impact Statement.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application from the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) seeking Department of the Army authorization to temporarily impact 167 linear feet of stream and 0.04 acres of wetlands and permanently impact 4.80 acres of wetlands, 1 acre of impounded waters (pond), and 1,927 linear feet of stream, to facilitate the replacement of an at-grade intersection located at SR 3418 (Neelley Road) and US 421 with a highway interchange that is designed to improve roadway safety. This project is referred to by NCDOT as Transportation Improvement Project (TIP) R-2612B.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application from Pastor Elmer Bauman of the Waves of Praise Worship Center seeking Department of the Army authorization to discharge dredged or fill material into 0.716 acre of waters of the United States, associated with the construction of a church for Waves of Praise Worship Center in Boiling Spring Lakes, Brunswick County, North Carolina.
