Regulatory Public Notices

As used by the Corps, the term "public notice" is an official, required government announcement of a proposed agency action, decision made or under consideration, public hearing or other activity.  Please download the attachment(s) associated with notice for the complete, formatted, public notice with tables, illustrations, maps and plans.

Mitigation Public Notices

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application from North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) seeking Department of the Army authorization to discharge dredged or fill material into waters of the United States, associated with the proposed replacement of Bridge 20 and 34 on NC 55, near Kinston, Lenoir County, North Carolina (TIP B-4926).

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application on May 1, 2023 from the National Park Service (NPS), Cape Lookout National Seashore (CALO) seeking Department of the Army authorization to perform maintenance dredging of two channels accessing NPS docks and placement of fill material onto CALO Lighthouse Beach (soundside), in Carteret County, North Carolina.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application on April 25, 2023 from 421 Sand, LLC seeking Department of the Army authorization to impact approximately 2.04 acres of waters and wetlands to facilitate the expansion of an existing sand mine off Highway 421, north of Wilmington, in New Hanover County, North Carolina.

    The Wilmington District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) has received an application from the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) seeking Department of the Army authorization to discharge fill material into waters of the United States associated with the construction of a new interchange on Interstate 26 (I-26) to provide access to I-26 and improve east-west connectivity within the project vicinity to accommodate current and planned growth in Buncombe County, North Carolina (STIP Project No. HE-0001). The proposed project also includes construction of a 2-lane roadway that would connect the new interchange to East Frederick Law Olmsted Way, which connects to NC 191 (Brevard Road). The proposed project would permanently impact 981 linear feet of stream and 0.103 acre of wetland.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application on March 28, 2023, from the Four County Electric Cooperative c/o: Mr. Gregg Cohn seeking Department of the Army authorization to discharge fill material into 1.37 acre of wetlands for the construction of an access road for a new electrical Point of Delivery (POD) and substation on property located on Island Creek Road (SR 1002), just west of intersection with NC Highway 210, near Hampstead, Pender County, North Carolina.
