As used by the Corps, the term "public notice" is an official, required government announcement of a proposed agency action, decision made or under consideration, public hearing or other activity.  Please download the attachment(s) associated with notice for the complete, formatted, public notice with tables, illustrations, maps and plans.

  • SAW-2004-9986803, NCDOT I-26 Asheville Connector Project

    Expiration date: 12/14/2025

    The DISTRICT ENGINEER, WILMINGTON DISTRICT, 69 Darlington Avenue, Wilmington North Carolina 28403, is hereby notifying the public about a North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) proposal to impact waters of the U.S. in Asheville, Buncombe County, North Carolina. The purpose of this public notice is to solicit comments regarding NCDOT’s proposal to temporarily impact the French Broad River to construct causeways and a trestle work bridge to support new bridge construction in Phase 2 of the I-2513 project, also known as the I-26/Asheville Connector. This work would include (1) constriction of more than 50% of river flow in the French Broad River for approximately three weeks due to causeway configurations/phases, and (2) construction of a trestle work bridge that would span part of the river with causeways on each end for approximately 15 months, and one causeway on one end for approximately 2 months.

  • SAW-2025-00715 Sparta Commercial Development Site

    The Wilmington District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) has received an after-the-fact (ATF) application from John and Phyllis Miller for a Department of the Army permit pursuant to Section 404 of the Clean Water Act (33 U.S.C. §1344) to retain the existing approximately 1.24 acres of fill within wetlands associated with a commercial development. In addition, the project involves restoration activities of approximately 2.98 acres of wetland and 760 linear feet (linear feet) of streams.

  • SAW-2025-00253 Cornelius Road Industrial Park

    Expiration date: 11/26/2025

    The Wilmington District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) has received an application for a Department of the Army permit pursuant to Section 404 of the Clean Water Act (33 U.S.C. §1344) and/or Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899 (33 U.S.C. §403). The purpose of this public notice is to solicit comments from the public regarding the proposed construction of a light industrial complex with its associated infrastructure located at 486 Cornelius Road, in Mooresville, Iredell County, North Carolina. The project would affect waters of the United States associated with the Upper Catawba Watershed, and specifically the Stumpy Creek-Lake Norman watershed. Implementation of the project would permanently impact 217 lf of stream channel (80 lf would not be considered a loss and would be associated with embedded riprap) and 1.84 acre of wetland and would temporarily impact 25 lf of stream channel.

  • SAW-2021-00933 Oxford Park

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) has received an application for a Department of the Army permit pursuant to Section 404 of the Clean Water Act (33 U.S.C. §1344), seeking Department of the Army authorization to discharge dredged or fill material into waters of the United States in Hydrologic Unit Code [HUC] 03020101 Tar-Pamlico River Basin, for the construction of Oxford Park, a mixed use development of approximately 1,800 residential dwelling units (multi-family, townhomes, and single family lot homes) are planned for the Project. The project area includes 471 acres (AC) located east of Horner Siding Road, west of Perry Road, and north of Salem Road, approximately 2.7 miles northeast of Oxford; at Latitude 36.344817 and Longitude -78.569239. The applicant requests authorization to discharge fill/dredged material into 0.142 AC of wetlands, 824.3 linear feet (LF) of stream channel, and the temporary discharge of fill/dredged material into 192.6 LF of stream channel.

  • SAW Regulatory Program Modernization --Regulatory Review System (RRS)

    The Wilmington District, South Atlantic Division, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), is transitioning to a new method for receiving electronic regulatory submittals and updating its District websites. Effective December 5, 2025, the Wilmington District will no longer accept electronic requests submitted by email. All electronic submittals should be made through the Regulatory Request System (RRS) at https://rrs.usace.army.mil.
