Regulatory Public Notices

As used by the Corps, the term "public notice" is an official, required government announcement of a proposed agency action, decision made or under consideration, public hearing or other activity.  Please download the attachment(s) associated with notice for the complete, formatted, public notice with tables, illustrations, maps and plans.

Mitigation Public Notices

  • SAW-2014-00864

    Expiration date: 4/13/2015

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application from the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) seeking Department of the Army authorization to impact 460 linear feet (lf) of stream channel for the Windy Road Bridge Replacement Project (BR No 12, state project number 17BP.10R.53). The project proposes to remove the existing bridge and replace it with a double 8 x 9 foot reinforced Concrete Box Culvert. The project site is located where Windy Road crosses Emerson Branch, approximately 0.15 miles southwest of the intersection of Mooresville Road and Windy Road in Concord, Cabarrus County, North Carolina.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application from Green Meadows, LLC seeking Department of the Army authorization to discharge fill material into 1.14 acres of jurisdictional headwater and riparian wetlands, 4,166 linear feet of jurisdictional intermittent and perennial streams, along with 0.50 acre of isolated wetlands non-jurisdictional wetlands, associated with coal ash repositories to be located at the Brickhaven and Sanford (Colon) Mines in Chatham and Lee Counties, North Carolina.

    Expiration date: 3/13/2015

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application from Metrolina Greenhouse, Inc seeking Department of the Army authorization to discharge fill material into 3.651 acres of wetlands (of which 1.25 acres of wetland impact has already occurred) for the Metrolina Greenhouse Facility Expansion Project. The project site is located at 16400 Huntersville-Concord Highway in Huntersville, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina.

  • SAW-2007-04137

    Expiration date: 3/10/2015

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) has received a request from Partners Equity Group to modify an individual Department of the Army permit issued under the above referenced file number on May 13, 2009. This permit expired on December 31, 2014. The revised project would involve the discharge of fill material in 1.68 acres of wetlands to facilitate the construction of three restaurants in Smithfield, in Johnston County, North Carolina. The applicant has also requested that the permit be extended for 5 years.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application from Mr. Lew Bleiweis of the Greater Asheville Regional Airport Authority seeking Department of the Army authorization to impact 0.15 acre of wetland, associated with the long-term development of the Asheville Regional Airport (AVL) in the Fletcher community of Buncombe County, North Carolina.
