    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Wilmington District awarded a $23.9 million contract to Manson Construction Company on September 15, 2023, for the maintenance dredging of the Savannah Harbor, Georgia; the Brunswick Harbor, Georgia; and the Wilmington Harbor, North Carolina.

  • Renourishment contract award: Wrightsville Beach

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Wilmington District awarded a $13.6 million contract to Marinex Construction, Inc. for the renourishment of Wrightsville Beach.

    WILMINGTON, N.C. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Wilmington District awarded an $18 million contract to Norfolk Dredging Company on 1 September 2023, for the maintenance dredging of the Wilmington Harbor Anchorage Basin and Mid-River Channels.

    A ribbon cutting will be held September 1st, 2023, at 11 a.m. at the Philpott Lake Visitors Center for a new 0.4-mile pedestrian trail opening at Philpott Lake.

  • Continued closure of William O’Huske/Lock and Dam Three and closure of Lock and Dam Two

    The William O’Huske/Lock and Dam Three, located at 1248 Bill Hall Rd, Fayetteville, N.C., will remain closed due to continued construction through August 14th, 2023. Lock and Dam Two, located at 645 Lock #2 Rd, Elizabethtown, N.C., will close July 10th, 2023, and is projected to reopen August 7th, 2023.

  • USACE Wilmington to hold a public open house for the Wilmington Harbor 403 Letter Report and Environmental Impact Statement

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Wilmington District is conducting a public comment period through 30 June 2023 and will host a public open house on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, 4:00 PM at Cape Fear Community College, Union Station Building, 502 N Front St. Wilmington, NC 28401.

  • Philpott Dam Industry Day

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Wilmington District is hosting an Industry Engagement Day, on Tuesday, 18 APR 2023, from 0900 to 1200 EDT at the Philpott Lake Visitor Center. Attendees will meet at the Philpott Lake Visitor Center no later than 0845. A presentation will be provided which will include general timeline of the solicitation, how to contract with the US Army Corps of Engineers, and a general overview of the project. The Industry Day will provide a venue for CESAW to discuss the upcoming Philpott Dam Landslide Remediation contracting opportunity.
