WILMINGTON, N.C.- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Wilmington District, will host a public information meeting for the recently published draft General Reevaluation Report (GRR) and Environmental Assessment (EA) for the Surf City Coastal Storm Risk Management (CSRM) project, on September 24th at 6 PM at the Surf City Municipal Center (214 W. Florence Way, Hampstead NC 28433).

The meeting will be held jointly with the Town of Surf City. Draft report findings will be presented, and USACE personnel will be available to answer questions and receive comments.

Draft GRR/EA documents are available for public review and comment for a 30-day period from August 27, 2024, to October 4, 2024 and are available for public review here.

Once the review period closes on October 4, 2024, the Corps will respond to comments received, and incorporate comments and responses into a final report. The team’s goal is to complete the study process with signing of a Chief of Engineers Report in May 2025.

This event is an opportunity for the public and stakeholders to make their voices heard. USACE looks forward to continuing to work with great partners at the Town of Surf City toward the team’s goal.
