• Continued closure of William O’Huske/Lock and Dam Three and closure of Lock and Dam Two

    The William O’Huske/Lock and Dam Three, located at 1248 Bill Hall Rd, Fayetteville, N.C., will remain closed due to continued construction through August 14th, 2023. Lock and Dam Two, located at 645 Lock #2 Rd, Elizabethtown, N.C., will close July 10th, 2023, and is projected to reopen August 7th, 2023.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Wilmington District is conducting a public comment period through 30 June 2023 and will host a public open house on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, 4:00 PM at Cape Fear Community College, Union Station Building, 502 N Front St. Wilmington, NC 28401.
  • Philpott Dam Industry Day

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Wilmington District is hosting an Industry Engagement Day, on Tuesday, 18 APR 2023, from 0900 to 1200 EDT at the Philpott Lake Visitor Center. Attendees will meet at the Philpott Lake Visitor Center no later than 0845. A presentation will be provided which will include general timeline of the solicitation, how to contract with the US Army Corps of Engineers, and a general overview of the project. The Industry Day will provide a venue for CESAW to discuss the upcoming Philpott Dam Landslide Remediation contracting opportunity.

    The William O’Huske/Lock and Dam Three, located at 1248 Bill Hall Rd, Fayetteville, NC, will be closed 20 March 2023 through 31 May 2023 while rehabilitation work takes place to restore functionality to the Cape Fear River Lock and Dam, so that both vessels and fish may be locked through once again.

    The US Army Corps of Engineers, Wilmington District (USACE), has conducted an environmental analysis in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) for the Rollinson Channel Navigation Project. The analysis determined a new route to be a more efficient path, in regards to improved navigational safety and reliability, for the channel. Therefore, the channel is officially relocation to the new location. The original location will no longer be maintained.
