Regulatory Public Notices

As used by the Corps, the term "public notice" is an official, required government announcement of a proposed agency action, decision made or under consideration, public hearing or other activity.  Please download the attachment(s) associated with notice for the complete, formatted, public notice with tables, illustrations, maps and plans.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application from the Virginia Electric and Power Company seeking Department of the Army authorization to discharge fill material into waters of the United States, associated with the construction of a new 115kV and 230kV switching station. The proposed project is located adjacent to an existing overhead electrical transmission line easement and would permanently impact 1.035 acres of jurisdictional wetlands, temporarily impact 0.052 acre of jurisdictional wetlands and will involve the relocation of 471.97 linear feet of perennial stream channel, permanently impact 39.8 linear feet of perennial stream channel for a total of 511.77 linear feet of jurisdictional streams. The switching station would be approximately 5.5 acres in size, near Battleboro, in Nash County, North Carolina.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application from the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT), in consultation with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), seeking Department of the Army (DA) individual permit authorization to impact approximately 4.17 acres of DA jurisdictional wetlands and 108 linear feet of surface waters associated with the replacement of Bridge Nos. 85, 141, 151 and Culvert C70 on US 301 over Swift Creek and Culvert C161 on US 301 over Lane Swamp in Nash County, North Carolina. (NCDOT TIP B-5124; Federal Aid Project- BRSTP-0301(25), WBS 42270.1.1.)

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) has received an application from Stallings Oil Company seeking Department of the Army authorization for 0.551 acres of permanent impacts to riparian wetlands associated with the infrastructure, and lot fill for a commercial development located on the east side of NC Hwy 58, south of US Hwy 64, Nashville, Nash County, North Carolina.
