Regulatory Public Notices

As used by the Corps, the term "public notice" is an official, required government announcement of a proposed agency action, decision made or under consideration, public hearing or other activity.  Please download the attachment(s) associated with notice for the complete, formatted, public notice with tables, illustrations, maps and plans.

Mitigation Public Notices

  • SAW-2018-01504

    Expiration date: 9/12/2019

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application from the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NC DOT) seeking Department of the Army authorization to reconstruct the I-40/I-77 Interchange in Statesville, Iredell County, North Carolina. The project would result in permanent impacts to 3,194 linear feet of stream channel (1,019 linear feet of which is bank stabilization), temporary impacts to 394 linear feet of stream channel, permanent fill of 1.06 acres of wetlands, mechanized clearing of 0.33 acre of wetlands, and temporary impacts to 2.56 acres of wetlands (hand-clearing). Utility impacts include an additional permanent fill of <0.01 acre of wetlands, mechanized clearing of 0.02 acre of wetlands and temporary impacts to 0.27 acre of wetlands.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application from the Town of Smithfield seeking Department of the Army authorization to discharge dredged or fill material into waters of the United States, associated with the expansion of the existing Smithfield Water Treatment Plant (WTP) raw water reservoir. The proposed project is located in the Town of Smithfield, in Johnston County, North Carolina.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application from the Town of Fuquay-Varina seeking Department of the Army authorization to dischargefill material into wetlands Hydrologic Unit Code (HUC) 03020201 (Neuse River Basin), associated the Westec Way Extension, in Wake County, North Carolina.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) has received an application from the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) regarding a potential future requirement for Department of the Army authorization to discharge dredged or fill material into waters of the United States associated with upgrading existing US 70 or constructing on new location, a four-lane, median-divided freeway with full control of access from US 70 between La Grange (in Lenoir County) and US 70 at Dover (at the Jones/Craven County line) near the City of Kinston, North Carolina.
