Regulatory Public Notices

As used by the Corps, the term "public notice" is an official, required government announcement of a proposed agency action, decision made or under consideration, public hearing or other activity.  Please download the attachment(s) associated with notice for the complete, formatted, public notice with tables, illustrations, maps and plans.

Mitigation Public Notices

  • SAW-2019-01276

    Expiration date: 12/23/2021

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application from the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NC DOT) seeking Department of the Army authorization to discharge dredged or fill material into waters of the United States, associated with the proposed widening of Interstate 95 (I-95) to eight lanes from US 301 (Exit 22) to south of the proposed I-295 interchange (associated with the Fayetteville Outer Loop, STIP U-2519) in Robeson County, North Carolina. The proposed project is federally funded, and included in the NC DOT’s approved Fiscal Year (FY) 2018-2027 and 2020-2029 North Carolina State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP), project number STIP: I-5987.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received a revised application from the Greensboro-Randolph Megasite Foundation, Inc. seeking Department of the Army authorization to discharge dredged or fill material into waters of the United States, associated with the construction of the Greensboro-Randolph Megasite (GRMS), an approximate 1,000-acre automotive storage battery manufacturing, production, and assembly facility. The proposed project includes off-site transportation and utility improvements. The proposed project site is located adjacent to US Highway 421 in Liberty, Randolph County, North Carolina. The District previously published a public notice for a proposed advanced automotive manufacturing facility at this location/site on December 18, 2018.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application from North Carolina Acquisitions, LLC seeking Department of the Army authorization to impact, 1,995 linear feet (lf)/ 0.129 acres of Unnamed Tributary (UT) to I-L Creek associated with the construction of two distribution facilities at 782 Perry Road, near Troutman, Iredell County, North Carolina.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received a request from the Town of Sunset Beach seeking to modify their April 14, 2021 Department of the Army (DA) authorization to conduct dredging operations within South Jinks Creek, several finger canals, and the “Bay Area” and to place the beach compatible dredge material in the nearshore waters of the Atlantic Ocean. The permit modification request consists of reconfiguring the dredge footprint within the “Bay Area” from one channel to two separate channels and to install a temporary ramp for the unloading of the incompatible beach material to an upland disposal site.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application from the Town of Nags Head seeking Department of the Army authorization to dredge 975,000 cubic yards of beach-quality sediments from three offshore borrow sources, and deposit the material along a 4.5-mile section of oceanfront shoreline, in the Town Nags Head, Dare County, North Carolina.
