Regulatory Public Notices

As used by the Corps, the term "public notice" is an official, required government announcement of a proposed agency action, decision made or under consideration, public hearing or other activity.  Please download the attachment(s) associated with notice for the complete, formatted, public notice with tables, illustrations, maps and plans.

Mitigation Public Notices

  • SAW-2021-01535

    Expiration date: 10/4/2021

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) has received an application from the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) regarding a potential future requirement for Department of the Army (DA) authorization to discharge dredged or fill material into waters of the United States associated with the construction of a new interchange on Interstate 26 (I-26) to provide access to I-26 and improve east-west connectivity within the project vicinity to accommodate current and planned growth in Buncombe County, North Carolina (STIP Project No. HE-0001). The proposed project also includes construction of a 2-lane roadway that would connect the proposed interchange to a road that is currently under construction by a private developer (Frederick Law Olmsted Way East). Once road construction is completed by the private developer, Frederick Law Olmsted Way East will connect to NC 191.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application from the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NC DOT) seeking Department of the Army authorization to discharge dredged or fill material into waters of the United States, associated with the proposed widening of SR 1102 (Gillis Hill Road) from US Highway 401 (Raeford Road) to SR 1418 (Lindsay Road), in Cumberland and Hoke Counties, North Carolina. The proposed project is included in the approved 2020-2029 North Carolina State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP), project number STIP: U-5798.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application from Mr. George Radford at the United States Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Cherry Point seeking Department of the Army authorization to fill 6.13 acres of wetlands, 0.12 acres of jurisdictional tributaries (ditches), and 242 linear feet of stream, associated with relocating and widening Slocum Road from two lanes to four lanes and construct an additional concrete two-lane bridge with a pedestrian lane over Slocum Creek, in Craven County, North Carolina.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application from Fujifilm Diosynth Biotechnologies U.S.A., Inc. seeking Department of the Army (DA) authorization to discharge fill material into waters and wetlands in the Cape Fear River Basin, Hydrologic Unit Code (HUC) 03030004, associated with Project Galaxy, in Holly Springs, in Wake County, North Carolina.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application from the Asheville Regional Airport Authority seeking Department of the Army authorization to discharge fill into 0.56 acre of wetlands and 12 linear feet of stream channel, associated with the installation of a remedial nonpermeable permanent cap over coal combustion residuals (CCR) previously used as structural fill on the Airport property, at 275 Wright Brothers Way, in Arden, Buncombe County, North Carolina.
