USACE awards two Regional Harbor Dredging contracts

WILMINGTON, N.C. – August 26, 2025 – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Wilmington District (USACE Wilmington), recently awarded two contracts for the maintenance dredging of key regional harbors to support the nation's economy and maintain national security.

Contract 1: Regional Harbor Dredging Contract (RHDC)
Awarded Date: August 6, 2025

Award amount: $38,387,500

The first contract was awarded to Weeks Marine, Inc., of Covington, Louisiana. This contract is for the Regional Harbor Dredging Contract (RHDC) and will cover maintenance dredging in Savannah, Charleston, and Wilmington Harbors.

Contract 2: Brunswick and Morehead City Harbors Maintenance Dredging

Award Date: August 25, 2025

Award Amount: $26,852,500 

The second contract went to Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Company of Houston, Texas. This work will focus on maintenance dredging at Brunswick Harbor and Morehead City Harbor.

Maintaining these federal navigation channels is crucial for the safe and efficient movement of commercial and military vessels.
