U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Extends Campground Closures
WILMINGTON, N.C. – Due to heavy amounts of rain, and the incoming storm, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Wilmington District will be extending the period of closure for the campgrounds until June 8, 2020.
This decision was made because of the flooding that has already occurred on campgrounds throughout our region; and with more rain expected this week, it is in the interest of public safety that we push back our target reopening date. Extensive cleanup and damage assessments are being conducted to ensure facilities are equipped and safe for public occupation.
