Wilmington District to hold scoping meeting on proposed Ocean Isle terminal groin

OCEAN ISLE, NC-  The Regulatory Division of the Wilmington District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is holding a public scoping meeting on October 3rd for the Town of Ocean Isle Beach’s proposal to install a terminal groin structure on the west side of Shallotte Inlet, and to conduct supplemental beach nourishment along the eastern end of Ocean Isle Beach within jurisdictional waters of the United States.

   The Corps is soliciting comments from the public pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) to prepare a Draft Environmental Impact Statement concerning the town’s proposed activity.   

   The meeting will be held on at 6 P.M. in the Ocean Isle Beach Town Hall Public Assembly located at 3 West Third Street.
