Published Sept. 20, 2017
WILMINGTON, N.C. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Wilmington District has announced that winter camping at W. Kerr Scott Dam and Reservoir will be cancelled for the month of November for facility maintenance at Bandit’s Roost Campground. Winter camping will resume for the month of March. During winter camping, a section of A Loop at Bandit’s Roost Campground is open for camping on a first-come, first-serve basis at a discounted rate. Campsites have 30 and 50-amp electric hook-ups, and water is unavailable on the campsites during winter months due to lack of pipe insulation. However, potable water is available at the A Loop well house for campers to fill up their holding tank. Restrooms and hot showers will be available at A Loop shower house, and the dump station.
