WILMINGTON, N.C. – Bleu Moon Productions’ “Tom Dooley: A Wilkes County Legend” and “Moonshine and Thunder: The Junior Johnson Story” return to W. Kerr Scott Dam and Reservoir beginning Thursday, July 12th at the Forest’s Edge Amphitheater in Fort Hamby Park. Produced by Bleu Moon Productions, a local 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization, and in partnership with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the outdoor drama draws an audience from across North Carolina and the surrounding area.
Show dates for “Tom Dooley” are July 12, 13, 14, 19, 20, 21, 26, 27, and 28 starting at 8 pm nightly. Show dates for “Moonshine and Thunder” are September 13, 14, 15, 20, 21, 22, 27, 28, and 29 starting at 7:30 pm nightly. Fort Hamby Park is located off Highway 421 North at the end of South Recreation Road. The address is 1534 S. Recreation Road, Wilkesboro, NC.
Ft. Hamby Park includes a campground and day use area and is open April 15 through October 15. The Forest’s Edge Amphitheater was opened to the public in summer of 2006 as a facility at W. Kerr Scott for the purpose of providing the public with a community amphitheater. The facility can be rented for events by organizations, corporate events, and/or individual groups.
