Construction of the hydropower plant on B. Everett Jordan Dam began in 2008, and became operational in January of 2012. Operated through a partnership between the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Hydro Matrix Partnership Ltd, the hydropower plant at Jordan Lake has produced over 7 GWh since January, 2012. The plant has two hydroelectric generators; combined, the generating modules produce about 16,900 MW annually, which is enough electricity to power 4,000 homes.
