Cape Fear River Briefly Spills Back into Downtown Wilmington
Just weeks after Hurricane Florence flooded many parts of Wilmington, water from the Cape Fear River managed to creep back onto the city's streets at high tide on Oct. 11. Wilmington District water managers continue to monitor downstream river flows in the Neusse River and Cape Fear River basins after Hurricane Michael caused flooding in the Piedmont region and other areas of North Carolina.
