Wilmington District marine biologist Chuck Wilson inspects seeding coastal aquatic marsh vegetation at a former dredged material site near Morehead City, North Carolina. The Wilmington District and other government agencies transformed the site in 1996 from a dredge disposal area to a coastal aquatic marsh that has survived hurricanes, tropical storms and erosion. The site has become habitat for oysters and other shellfish, seabirds and various species of fish. (USACE photo by Hank Heusinkveld)
