Fee Discount Passes

Recreation Fee Discount Passes that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is Authorized to Issue, Sell, or Accept

Passes may be purchased at the US Army Corps of Engineers' Visitor Centers at Jordan, Falls, John H. Kerr, Philpott, and W. Kerr Scott.   The Visitor Centers are located near the dams.  For hours, please contact the lake you plan to visit.  Passes may also be available at manned gatehouses located at John H. Kerr, Philpott, and W. Kerr Scott lakes.

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers

 

Annual Pass

Pass holders receive free entrance to U.S. Army Corps of Engineers-operated sites that charge day use fees. The pass may not be used at areas operated by other agencies even if those areas may be located on Corps-owned property. Camping fees are not included.

 

Pass valid for one year. Valid through month and year shown on the pass.

Sold only at U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ projects.

Pass holders and accompanying passengers in a single, private, non-commercial vehicle receive free entrance to federal sites that charge Entrance or Standard Amenity fees (Day use fees). Camping fees are not included.

 

Pass valid for one full year from month of purchase (through last day of that month).

Senior Pass, Lifetime

(Age 62 and older)

 

$80

Pass holders (age 62 and older) receive free lifetime entrance to federal sites that charge Entrance and Standard Amenity fees (Day use fees). Pass holders also receive a 50% discount on fees at federal campgrounds.

 

Pass valid for the lifetime of the pass holder.

Military Pass, Annual

 

Free

Pass holders must be current US military members and their dependents in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard, as well as most members of the US Reserves and National Guard. Proper military ID is required (CAC Card or DoD Form 1173).

 

Pass holders receive free entrance to federal sites that charge Entrance and Standard Amenity fees (Day use fees). Camping fees are not included.

 

Pass valid for one full year from month obtained (through last day of that month).

Volunteer Pass, Annual

 

Free

Pass holders are individuals who have volunteered 250 hours at one or more recreation sites managed by the six federal agencies.

 

Pass holders receive free entrance to federal sites that charge Entrance and Standard Amenity fees (Day use fees). Camping fees are not included.

 

Pass valid for one full year from month of issuance (through last day of that month).

Access Pass, Lifetime

(Persons with disabilities)

 

Free

Pass holders are those individuals that have been medically determined to have a permanent disability (does not have to be a 100% disability).

 

Pass holders receive free lifetime entrance to federal sites that charge Entrance and Standard Amenity fees (Day use fees). Pass holders also receive a 50% discount on fees at federal campgrounds.

 

Pass valid for the lifetime of the pass holder.

Every Kid in the Park Pass, Annual

(4th grade students)

 

Free

Pass holders (4th grade students) receive free admission at federal sites that charge Entrance or Standard Amenity fees (Day use fees) for one full year (September through August of the student’s 4th grade year). Covers the pass owner and three accompanying adults age 16 or older (no entry fees for minors age 15 or younger).

Camping fees are not included.

Passes may be a printed Every Kid in a Park Pass voucher.  Paper passes can be exchanged for plastic passes.  The 4th grade student must be present to exchange the paper voucher for a plastic pass.

 

Pass valid for one full year (September through August of the student’s 4th grade year).

Hangtags for ATB Passes

(ATB pass holders)

Free

 

Hangtags are used at unmanned sites.  Valid America the Beautiful Passes must be inserted and hung so hangtag is visible from outside the vehicle.

Annual Decal

(ATB Pass Holders)

 

Visitors with an open-topped vehicle (jeep, motorcycle, etc.) may obtain a free decal to attach to your vehicle that will serve as proof of payment at sites that don't have a staffed entrance station.

-Decals are issued on annual basis, even for owners of lifetime Senior/Access passes

Decals are NOT valid for entry at staffed entrance sites - you MUST show your pass

Decals must be obtained in person and they must show the following:  Pass, driver's license and vehicle registration. The name on all three documents must match.


***While Golden Age and Golden Access passes are no longer issued, those still in possession of them receive half off their camping fees and free day use entry. The America the Beautiful Senior and Access passes have replaced the Golden Age and Access passes.
