The Corps has completed the NEPA analysis and has made a decision regarding the request for permit.

11/8/2010 - Public Notice    -    Record of Decision

This permit request is from the Town of Nags Head in Dare County, North Carolina, for authorization to dredge up to 4.6 million cubic yards of beach-quality sediment from an offshore borrow source and deposit the material along ~10 miles of ocean shoreline in the Town of Nags Head.

The DEIS is submitted as required under the Federal Environmental Assessment and Review Process (EARP) to determine how to best accomplish the project and meet the needs of the people and the environment. The DEIS document was prepared to evaluate the resources and considerations involved in responding to coastal erosion which has impacted the oceanfront along the Town of Nags Head.
