Regulatory Public Notices

As used by the Corps, the term "public notice" is an official, required government announcement of a proposed agency action, decision made or under consideration, public hearing or other activity.  Please download the attachment(s) associated with notice for the complete, formatted, public notice with tables, illustrations, maps and plans.

Mitigation Public Notices

  • SAW-2018-02113

    Expiration date: 3/21/2023

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application from the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) seeking Department of the Army authorization to discharge dredged or fill material, associated with the proposal to elevate vertical grade and widen existing US 158 (Reidsville Road) to a multi-lane, median divided facility for approximately 18.8 miles from a location near its intersection with Old Greensboro Road in Forsyth County near Winston-Salem to its interchange with US 220/I-73 in Guilford County near Stokesdale, North Carolina (TIP R-2577 A, B & C). Impacts from this proposal total 1.74 acres of permanent wetland impacts and 8,022 linear feet of permanent stream impact.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application from Embrey Partners, LLC., seeking Department of the Army authorization to impact 750 linear feet of stream channel along with approximately 1,000 linear feet of onsite stream relocation and enhancement activities for the construction of the 3027 North Tryon Street Residential Development (Site), a high-density residential development and coworking commercial space in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application from North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) seeking Department of the Army authorization to discharge dredged or fill material into waters of the United States, associated with the proposed U.S. 158 improvements from Acorn Hill Road to the Pasquotank County Line in Gates County, North Carolina. NCDOT has identified this project as R-5808.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application on February 3, 2023 from North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) seeking Department of the Army authorization for the impact to 0.01 acres of wetland from placement of permanent fill, the permanent impact to 1,103 linear feet of stream and the temporary impact of 304 linear feet of stream associated with the construction of a new 2-lane, median divided roadway on new alignment, approximately 1.0 mile in length. This project is located from the intersection of Piney Grove Road (SR 1969) and Linville Springs Road (SR 2030) to a location on NC 105 (North Main Street near the intersection of NC 105 and Macy Grove Road Extension in Kernersville, Forsyth County, North Carolina.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application from EastGroup Properties, Inc. seeking Department of the Army authorization to impact 557 linear feet of stream channel, 0.974 acres of wetlands, and 0.06 acres of open water along with 1,217 linear feet of onsite stream restoration for the construction of an industrial distribution/warehouse logistics center in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. The purpose of the proposed project purpose is to construct a high-quality, light industrial center to support high-volume logistics for warehouse and distribution facilities that supply goods and services to transportation hubs in the city of Charlotte in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. This will result in impacts to 557 linear feet of stream channel, 0.974 acres of wetlands, and 0.06 acres of open water. All impacts will result from fill and grading associated with the construction of commercial development site. In addition to the permanent stream, wetland, and open water impacts that will result in the loss of waters, the applicant proposes onsite stream restoration to 1,217 linear feet of stream channel.
