Regulatory Public Notices

As used by the Corps, the term "public notice" is an official, required government announcement of a proposed agency action, decision made or under consideration, public hearing or other activity.  Please download the attachment(s) associated with notice for the complete, formatted, public notice with tables, illustrations, maps and plans.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received a request from the Town of Beech Mountain seeking Department of the Army authorization to modify a minimum flow release permit condition of a previously issued standard permit which authorized the construction of the Buckeye Reservoir, in Beech Mountain in Watauga County, North Carolina.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application from the Greater Asheville Regional Airport Authority seeking Department of the Army authorization to discharge fill material into 467 linear feet of stream channel and 0.22 acres of wetlands, associated with an overnight aircraft parking expansion in Asheville, Buncombe County, North Carolina.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application from the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT), seeking Department of the Army (DA) authorization to permanently impact 12.66 acres of jurisdictional wetlands, 2426 linear feet of stream, 0.43 acres of surface waters and temporarily impact 0.03 acres of surface waters associated with construction of TIP Project R-2582A the widening of US 158 for 8.2 miles east of I-95 near the town of Garysburg, in Northampton County, North Carolina.     The DISTRICT ENGINEER, WILMINGTON DISTRICT, 69 Darlington Avenue, Wilmington North Carolina 28403, hereby announces the issuance of Regional General Permit (RGP) 20181536 pursuant to Section 10 of the River and Harbor Act of 1899 (33 U.S.C. 403) and Section 404 of the Clean Water Act (33 U.S.C. 1344). This RGP authorizes the construction, maintenance and repair of marsh sills for shoreline stabilization along eroding shorelines within waters located within the 20 coastal counties of North Carolina. Title 33, Code of the Federal Regulations (CFR), Paragraph 325, authorizes issuances of RGPs for activities which are substantially similar in nature and cause only minimal individual and cumulative environmental impacts.
