As used by the Corps, the term "public notice" is an official, required government announcement of a proposed agency action, decision made or under consideration, public hearing or other activity.  Please download the attachment(s) associated with notice for the complete, formatted, public notice with tables, illustrations, maps and plans.

    All interested parties are hereby advised that the Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) is announcing a Public Hearing and extension of the commenting period on the Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (SEIS) for the Figure Eight Island Shoreline Management Project. Figure Eight Beach Homeowner’s Association is proposing to install a terminal groin structure along the southern shoulder of Rich Inlet and to conduct supplemental beach nourishment on approximately 4,500 linear feet of oceanfront beach and 1,400 linear feet of back barrier shoreline on Figure Eight Island, in New Hanover County, North Carolina. The Public Hearing will be held on September 2, 2015 at the Ogden Elementary School, located at 3637 Middle Sound Loop Road, at 6:30pm; and this notice amends our July 9, 2015 Public Notice commenting deadline by extending the commenting period to September 14, 2015.

    All interested parties are herby advised that the Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) is releasing the Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (SEIS) for the project, known as Figure Eight Island Shoreline Management Project, with plans to install a terminal groin structure along the southern shoulder of Rich Inlet and to conduct a supplemental beach nourishment on approximately 4,500 linear feet of oceanfront beach and 1,400 linear feet of back barrier shoreline on Figure Eight Island, in New Hanover County, North Carolina. (SEGi) on behalf of Seagrove WF Investors seeking after-the-fact Department of the Army authorization for impacts to 1.006 acre of nonriparian wetlands and authorization to fill 0.048 acre of non-riparian wetlands, associated with the development of Seagrove residential subdivision in New Hanover County, North Carolina.

    The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) has received an application from Mr. Dick Thompson of ThAI T LLC seeking Department of the Army authorization for the discharge of fill material into 0.017 acre of jurisdictional tributary and after-the fact impacts to 0.07acre of wetlands associated with the development of lots 3, 4 and 62 within Covil Crossing subdivision. The approximate 3.75-acre project area is located on Loqust Drive, west of Snug Harbour Drive, in the Covil Crossing Subdivision,Wilmington, New Hanover County, North Carolina.

The 57.55 acre project area is located at 403 Torchwood Boulevard, in Wilmington, New Hanover County, North Carolina.
