Regulatory Public Notices

As used by the Corps, the term "public notice" is an official, required government announcement of a proposed agency action, decision made or under consideration, public hearing or other activity.  Please download the attachment(s) associated with notice for the complete, formatted, public notice with tables, illustrations, maps and plans. Subscribe to District Public Notices: The Wilmington District no longer maintains email subscriptions for public notices. Mitigation Public Notices

For all public notices pertaining to compensatory mitigation bank proposals or in-lieu fee mitigation sites developed by the North Carolina Division of Mitigation Services (NCDMS), please go to the Regulatory In-lieu Fee and Bank Information Tracking System website at https://ribits.usace.army.mil.

SAW-2015-00263 - 5/17/2018: The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps or USACE) received an application from Mr. Joe Walker of Western Carolina University (WCU) seeking Department of the Army authorization for 500 linear feet (lf) of permanent stream impacts to an unnamed tributary (UT) of Cullowhee Creek (parking lot construction); 0.293 acres (ac) of permanent wetland impacts (parking lot construction); and 0.09 ac of permanent wetland impacts (intermural fields improvements), associated with WCU 2014 Master Plan Improvement projects (Central Drive Parking Lot and Intramural Fields Improvements) in Cullowhee, Jackson County, North Carolina.

SAW-2016-01209 - 5/16/2018: The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application from Martin Marietta Materials, Inc. seeking Department of the Army authorization to discharge fill material into 0.15 acre of wetlands, 104 linear feet of perennial stream and 1,156 linear feet of intermittent stream, associated with the expansion of the existing Onslow Quarry Mine in Onslow County, North Carolina.

SAW-2016-00032 - 5/9/2018: The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps or USACE) received an application from Ms. Roseanne Giordani of Cashiers Canoe Club Development, LLC, (Cashiers Canoe Club) seeking Department of the Army authorization for 30 linear feet (lf) of temporary stream impacts (utility crossing); 100 linear lf of permanent stream impacts (stream crossings for roads); 6.96 acres (ac) of permanent wetland impacts (fill and dredging); and 18.78 acres permanent open water impacts (fill and dredging), associated with the Cashiers Lake Dredge and Development Project in Cashiers, Jackson County, North Carolina.

SAW-2015-2160 - 4/20/2018: The Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps) received an application from Mr. Andrew K. Sandman seeking Department of the Army authorization to permanently impact 200 linear feet of stream channel, 0.11 acre of scrub shrub wetlands, and 0.9 acre of open waters after-the-fact. Additional impacts to 93 linear feet of stream channel and 0.01 acre of forested wetlands are also proposed. Impacts to jurisdictional waters on site are associated with the construction of a residential subdivision, near the town of Apex, in Wake County, North Carolina.

SAW-2011-01914 - 4/19/2018: All interested parties are hereby advised that the Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers (Corps), at the request of the Town of Holden Beach, is withdrawing the permit application to implement a shoreline protection project along the east end of the island, including the construction of a terminal groin along the Lockwoods Folly Inlet, in Brunswick County, North Carolina. The Corps is no longer seeking comments and has ceased our permit review for the Town’s proposal.
