U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to hold public listening sessions on John H. Kerr Shoreline Management Plan in South Hill, Henderson and Clarksville

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Wilmington District, will be hosting public listening sessions on the update to the John H. Kerr Shoreline Management Plan (SMP) beginning on Nov. 13. The public may review the draft SMP and provide comments.  John H. Kerr staff will be available at the listening sessions to answer questions and/or address concerns directly related to the SMP.

     Three public listening sessions are scheduled as follows:

     Thursday, Nov. 13, 2014 at American Legion Hall, South Hill, VA 4 - 7 p.m.

Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014 at Satterwhite Point SP Community Building, Henderson, NC 4 - 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, 2014 at Clarksville Community Center, Clarksville, VA 4 - 7 p.m.

     Also, John H. Kerr staff will be available to answer questions at the Visitor Assistance Center located at 1930 Mays Chapel       Road,Boydton, VA 23917, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Appointments are available.

    The listening sessions will be conducted in an open house-type format with no formal presentation. The public is welcome to show up at any time between the referenced hours to interact with Corps staff one-on-one and provide written comments. The draft plan will be posted on Nov. 5, 2014 to the official John H. Kerr Reservoir webpage:
