USACE Announces More Closures at John H. Kerr Dam and Reservoir

WILMINGTON, NC -  U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Wilmington District officials at John H. Kerr Dam and Reservoir have announced more closures because of rising lake levels caused by Hurricane Michael.  The following areas are closed: 

 

Ramps: 
·         Palmer Point

·         North Bend Main

·         Eastland Creek

·         Rudd's Creek

·         Bluestone

·         Staunton View

·         Buffalo

·         Grassy Creek

·         Longwood

·         Ivy Hill

 

Campgrounds: (Gate houses are open and gate attendants have current information.)

 ·         Rudd's Creek: 79 out of 99 sites are open.  

·         North Bend Park: 47 sites closed.  (In October, only Areas B and C are open.)

·         Longwood: 41 out of 66 sites closed.

 

   Officials said the only USACE ramps open are at Island Creek and the Old Marina Ramp at North Bend (Area A).  All Day Use Parks are closed.  Closures and lake predictions have been posted on the Project Face Book page at the following link; www.facebook.com/JohnHKerrReservoirBuggsIslandLake/
